GMS is using a trial version of Freckle which has applications for Social Studies. Language Arts, Science, and Math. Students may access Freckle at home. Just go to the Gamewell Middle School webpage, click on the Student tab, then click on Clever. Students can log into Clever using the school gmail account. Freckle is an application inside of Clever. The Clever program is where our online Big Ideas mathbook can be accessed. Student may also log in directly to Freckle but will need a class code. Please let me know if you need my class code.
Blue Crew T-shirts!
Cost is $20. Get yours now! The Spirit Club will be selling them in front of the gym in the mornings. Students who purchase a Blue Crew shirt and wear it to school on the day of any game will be given free admission to that game. This is good for the entire year!
I do not give out/use/honor homework passes.
If the material is important enough for me to assign it, then it is important enough for my students to do it.

Parents/Guardians, please try to read through and sign as many papers as you can this evening, so we can get them back. If you can only take care of one thing, please take care of the orange colored Health/Medical Form. It is extremely important that we have your child's healthy history on file. Thank you!
You can now apply online! Just go to the Caldwell County School website, click on Departments, then Child Nutrition.
August 22 - See you all tonight! Open House is from 4:30 - 6:30.
It was wonderful getting to know some of my kiddos for this coming year. I loved meeting all of you at Brave Beginnings! I hope you have read our team newsletter and gotten a head start on picking up your school supplies. I have been working hard in our classroom getting it ready for you. I am so excited because I have a feeling this a going to be a great year! If you have any questions at all, about anything, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Oh, and please make sure I get your cell phone number. We will be using Remind this year to stay in contact with our families. It's an easy way to send text messages back and forth. I can send messages to a group (class) or individually. We use it to send messages about homework, school events, and more. Check it out at Remind.com!
See you all very soon!!
Classroom Wish List
We will always need paper towels and tissues. I have enough to get us started, but once that cooler weather hits, we will be going through tissues like crazy. And, this has been a bad allergy season too. So, if you are able to pick up a box or two for our classroom next time you are out shopping, that would be great! Please don't worry about buying name brands, the cheaper ones work just as well!
SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST for 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR
This will be very basic as each teacher has specific requirements but here are some things you will need to get started:
1. LOTS of pencils and cap erasers. If you use mechanical pencils, make sure you buy LOTS of lead!
2. Notebook/looseleaf paper - college or wide ruled - up to you.
3. Two glue sticks
4. Pack of colored pencils - 8 count should be fine
5. Three-ring binders - one for each class works best to help be organized. Two-inch is probably best. Don't get a three-inch - it won't fit in the locker!
6. Dividers - three or four per binder; pocket dividers are nice to have
7. Highlighters - two should be fine, any color
8. Self-contained pencil sharpener
9. Lock for your locker - we do have some locks, but probably not enough for a classroom set. You will be required to provide us with the combination if you do purchase one of your own.
10. Deodorant! Yes, our middle school students are stinky! We have deodorant breaks after Encore where everyone goes to their locker, gets their deodorant and goes to the bathroom and applies it!
11. Spiral notebooks - can't say how many you will need, but if they are on sale, you might want to pick up a few.
12. You will not need a calculator - we have classroom sets.
13. If you want a water bottle for class, you must get a clear plastic one.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at: email@example.com.
