Hello, my name is Denise Bumgardner Prince, I grew up right here in Caldwell County. I attended Hudson Elementary, Hudson Middle School and South Caldwell High School.  In 1991, I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College with a degree in Music Education. I began my teaching career in Cherokee County Schools in the western most tip of our state. I taught  Kindergarten through 8th Grade General Music and Beginning Band  there from 1991 until 1994. In August of 1994 I began working in Hickory Public Schools and taught elementary music there until 2016 when I came home to Caldwell County and Dudley Shoals Elementary. I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from ASU and am a National Board Certified Teacher. My husband Jeff and I met in high school and we have one daughter, Maddi, who is a Senior at South Caldwell.
