WEEK TWO

"America Activity" for Homework - Langston Hughes and Teddy White

**You will read the poetry of Langston Hughes and an excerpt from White's essay and write a response to each using the three broad questions fo the class.  Then, as part of the same assignment, you will write about the things which, in your view, defines America and an American.   Be prepared to discuss this in class when the assignment is due.  This will also be a part of your 'American Journey Project' when it is due as well.  More on that later.
