  • Welcome

Mrs. AbsherWelcome to my classroom website. Thank you for visiting my webpage and I want to tell you a little about myself.  I am married to Larry Absher and I have 2 sons, Luke and Jake.  Luke graduated from Hibriten in 2020 and Jake is currently a student at Hibriten.   I graduated from East Burke High School in 1990.  I went to Appalachian State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  After several years in the business field, I went back to Appalachian and received my certification in Education.  I began teaching at Table Rock Middle School in 1997.  In 2002 I began teaching business classes at West Caldwell High School.  In 2010 I applied for a business position at Hibriten High School and I have been teaching here ever since.  I love teaching at Hibriten and I feel this is the best school ever!

This website is a gateway to where I post my classes and assignments.  I will be using Canvas for students to use during class and during remote learning.  These are the steps to access Canvas:

    1. Log into your school email
    2. Click on the Google Apps button located in the upper-right corner of your computer (looks like 9 dots)
    3. Scroll down and find Canvas

You can use this to contact me via e-mail at anytime. I check my e-mail daily and will respond promptly.

  • Grading System

I grade all classes on a percentage system. All classwork is 40%, tests are 50%, and quizzes are 10%.  The end-of-year CTE Post-Assessment counts 25% of their overall grade. There is NO reason anyone should make less than a 100 on the tests. I will give everyone a copy of the test and we will go over it in class. The tests will be the same questions...just arranged differently. Your job is to STUDY the questions.
