Hello Everyone,

My name is Tonya Bentley and I have been teaching at Dudley Shoals Elementary for 21 years. I currently teach Kindergarten. I have taught Kindergarten now for 17 years. Before teaching Kindergarten I taught 1st grade for 3 years. I received my teaching degree from ASU. I also have a previous degree in Recreation Therapy from Western Carolina University.  In 2010 I received my certification as a National Board Certified Teacher.

I am married and have 2 wonderful girls aged 18 and 13.  My family is a major part of my life and my students are like my family. I am very excited to meet each and everyone of my new students and parents.  I hope to see many of you volunteering in my room on a weekly basis.

I feel that to have a sucessful classroom it takes open communication with the teacher and the parents. I appreciate everything you do to help your child at home. I can't do it successfully without you!
