Ms. Donna McGee

Hello! My name is Ms. McGee, and I have served as the Student Support Specialist at CECHS since 2016. This is my second stint at CECHS - from 2009 - 2011, I served as the Learning Lab Liaison with the North Carolina New Schools Project for CECHS. During my many years of teaching, I have also worked at Happy Valley Elementary (K-8) and Granite Falls Elementary and taught in grades 3 - 7, as well as worked with Pre K students in the Rising Stars program.

I have a Bachelor's Degree  in K-6 Elementary Education from Western Carolina University (Go Catamounts!!), a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Gardner Webb, a School Administration Licensure Degree from Appalachian State University, and a certification in High School English, Grades 9-12.

I have one son, CJ - he graduated from CECHS in 2014. He is currently a student at East Carolina University and will graduate in the next year. We originally lived in Hickory but moved to Caldwell County in 2009.

My interests include sports - Duke basketball, Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, pulling for Chase Elliott (since his dad is retired), the Atlanta Braves, and of course, any sport with Western Carolina or East Carolina! I also love to read, play trivia, and visit interesting areas in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee. My dream is to win the lottery and travel across the United States and Ireland.

My main job at CECHS is to support students - through credit recovery, assisting with college applications, applying for FAFSA, pursuing scholarship opportunities,  working with students to explore all things college, or encouraging them to be successful, productive citizens. Working with high school school students has been a rewarding experience, and I am blessed to work at CECHS.

Go Mustangs!!!
