Mrs. Katie Elliott,
Welcome to my principal’s page! I am honored and proud to serve as the principal at Hudson Middle School. This will be my 13th year in Caldwell County Schools and my 16th year in Education. I taught math at Hibriten High School, was an assistant principal at South Caldwell High School, and most recently, was the Assistant Director for Human Resource Services for the district. My family and I live in Happy Valley and enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that Caldwell County provides. I love to travel, cook, and am slightly obsessed with college football...
I grew up in Auburn, Alabama and attended both Auburn High School and Auburn University (War Eagle!). My professional life started in business, but a love for education eventually led me the classroom. I earned a Master's of School Administration from Western Carolina in 2011 and am currently finishing an Educational Leadership doctorate (May 2020), also from WCU. I am blessed to have had many varied experiences and am always learning and growing so I can help my staff and students do the same. I believe that quality educational programs are fundamental to a stable and progressive community. A safe, positive, and strong school culture, along with community support, allows teachers to be innovative so that schools can provide students with the foundation they will need to meet the needs and challenges of the future. To educate students is to empower them and I believe ALL students can meet high expectations if they are set in a collaborative and socially just environment.
