Friday - Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
Student attendance appeals will not be accepted after 3:00 TODAY. They must be turned in in the main office in the box labeled. Also, a teacher's signature is required. This DOES NOT mean they will get the appeal. This simply allows their name to be even eligible.
The FFA Christmas party will be Friday the 13th after school. Come by Mrs. Adams classroom to sign up and for more details! Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater!
Beta club members - please check your email for an email from Mrs Hatton and either respond or stop by to see her if you are interested in either the Beta expo or the state convention.
We need your talents! West Caldwell can submit up to 6 acts for Kaleidoscope, Caldwell County’s annual talent showcase. Students may participate as individuals or in groups and any talent is welcomed. There will be sign-up sheets for audition times outside the theatre after break.
SENIOR INFORMATION:
The deadline for ordering Cap and Gowns is January 15, 2020. All orders must be placed online, and the price goes up in January. Please see Mrs. Miller in the history department if you have any questions.
The Hickory Junior Woman's Club scholarship is now available in Mrs. Wakefield's office. This is for students planning to attend a 4 year college and in the top 25% of the senior class. This is for males or females. See Wakefield this week! Deadline is January 30.
Seniors - if you plan on attending a 4 year NC public university and have an unweighted
GPA of at least a 2.5, then see Mrs. Wakefield about the SECU (State Employees Credit Union) People Helping People Scholarship for $10,000!...details are on the WCHS scholarship page.
SPORTS:
Congratulations to Freddy Guardiola and Treshon Harper for both winning 1st place this past Saturday at Patton's Big Cat Classic. Freddy finished 1st at 152 pounds while Tre finished first at 220 pounds. Wrestling meet at Hibriten beginning at 6:00
Boys Basketball will play at home against South Caldwell beginning at 5:30. Come out and support your Warriors.
Anyone interested in going out for Men's tennis this spring should contact Coach Taladay. There will be tennis workouts this week on Wednesday and Thursday after school.
The Track team will travel to Bunker Hill on Thursday. If you do not come to practice today or tomorrow, then you will not be able to attend the meet.
